Obituary

Bart Allen Dykstra, 63, of Brunswick, GA passed away February 1, 2023 at Hospice of the Golden Isles after a short illness surrounded by his daughters.

Bart was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey on April 25, 1959, to Tunis Dykstra and Margaret Dykstra.
He and his family moved to Brunswick in 1969. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1977, and following graduation he served his country in the United States Air Force. Of his many duty stations was Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan. When he completed his service, he returned to Brunswick and met his wife of 20 years and had 4 daughters. During that time, he worked at Stambaugh Aviation for 16 years. Bart was very talented with his hands and mind and used his many skills after leaving Stambaugh Aviation in various industries. He was known as man of few words who simply got things done, whatever they may be.

He is preceded in death by his parents Tunis Dykstra and Margaret Dykstra and brothers Curt Dykstra and Jerry Dykstra.

He survived by his four daughters: Katie Dykstra (Bert Earhardt), Jessica Brannon (Matthew), Jennifer Braun (Richard), and Kelli Collum; his longtime companion Susan Parker; sister Lorrie Dykstra; brothers Greg and Paul Dykstra; 13 grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate Bart's life, will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, 11:00 am, from the gravesite at Chapel Park Cemetery.
