Benjamin 'Keith' McDowell, 70, of Brunswick, passed peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side, Saturday, July 6, 2024.

Keith was born in Brunswick, November 8, 1953, to Elmer Glynn McDowell, Sr. and Bertha Mae McDowell.  He was a 1971 graduate of Glynn Academy.  He had been employed by Badcock & Wilcox until its closing, then worked for Glynn County Public Works roadside mowing for 21 years.  After retirement from Public Works, he went on to work at Interior Products and delivery for Rainbow Drug Store.  Keith was a loving husband, father, great grandfather, brother, and uncle.  He was a Godly man, he knew his Bible, and shared it with those around him.  He was a perfectionist with weed-eating and mowing.  He would mow lots at the cemetery that were overgrown, stating that it was a blessing to clean them while talking to God and feel His spirit.  Keith was an avid Atlanta Braves Baseball and University of Georgia Football fan since his teenage years, from listening on the radio to watching on T.V., all chores had to be done before games on Saturday with UGA.

Keith is survived by his wife of 38 years, Annette L. McDowell, their four children, Delyna L. Stanley (Gary) of Blackshear, Renee Adams (James) of Waycross, Bryan K. McDowell (Sara) of Waynesville, Faith A. Clancey (Nicholas) of Brunswick, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his best Boxer ever, Autumn, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Glynn McDowell, Jr., an infant brother, and 2 twin great grandchildren, Michael Angelo and Greyson Lee Sanchez.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, 11:00 am, at Darien Church of God with Brother Tommy Whaley, Brother Earl Lamey, and Brother Jimmy Walden officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Waynesville with Larry Champion, Garry Council, Greg Loper, Victor Ramirez, Paul Moleski, David Allbritton, and Todd Moleski serving as active pallbearers.  A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Chapman Funeral Chapel.
