Betty Lou Lowther 58, of Hortense, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Jacksonville.

Betty was born June 6, 1965 to Creed and Gracie Lowther in Parkersburg W. VA. Betty was a resident of the Brunswick and Hortense areas for 47 years, after moving to Brunswick with her family. She was an avid collector of Betty Boop memorabilia. Betty had a passion for the restaurant and food service industry and enjoyed her time serving at Mack's BBQ and Cracker Barrel. Betty was a wonderful person who was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her brother and sister, Lee Lowther and Bonnie Blount; her children Johnny (Nikki) Diestel, Michael (Holly) Diestel; her grandchildren Henry, Anna, Danny, and Matthew Diestel; nieces and nephews Breanna, Cheyenne, and Wyatt Lowther. Betty was predeceased by her parents Creed and Gracie Lowther.

A graveside service will be held Friday, February 16, 2024, 11:00 AM at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
