Betty Goodman Shell, 82, of Brunswick, passed away early Saturday morning at SGHS Senior Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 8, 2022, 11:00 am, at Chapman Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Stanley Luke officiating.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service time, and a private interment will follow the service at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.

Betty was born March 17, 1940, in Rogersville, AL, to Hubert and Nell Berryhill Goodman.  She moved to Brunswick, and attended Glynn County Schools, graduating from Glynn Academy in 1958.  While at Glynn Academy she was a member of the PAMS, and was voted Most Humorous by her Senior Class, never losing her sense of humor.  Betty was a stay at home mom, who took great pride in her children, her home, and her immaculate yard.  She is very well known for her delicious, beautifully decorated cakes.  Betty was a member of Northside Baptist Church and the Grace Sunday School Class.

Betty is survived by her children, Kelly Shell Proctor (Mike) of Brunswick, Scott Shell (Cathy) of St. Johns, FL, and Jeff Shell (Kelly) of Darien, grandchildren, Josh Proctor (Jena), Brad Proctor (Margaret Anne), Kati Shell, Anna Grace Shell, Ryan Shell, and Kelsey Shell, great grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, Jack, and Ford.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Jerry Earl Shell, a brother Charles Goodman, her father, Hubert Goodman, her mother, Nell Brown, and step-father, James T. "Pete" Brown.

The Shell family would like to give a very special "Thank You', the Caregivers at SGHS Senior Care Center for the wonderful care given to Ms. Betty during her stay at Senior Care.
