Beverly Jean
Pittman Hart
Dec 24, 1938 — Dec 29, 2025
Draper
Beverly Jean Pittman Hart, age 87, passed away peacefully in her daughter's home in Draper, Utah, on December 29, 2025. Born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1938, in Sarasota, Florida, to Winton C. Pittman and Ruth Elizabeth Scotney, Jean brought light and laughter to all who knew her. She was the second of three children and grew up in Glynn County after her family moved there in 1943.Jean attended Glynn Academy and spent most of her life in the beautiful communities of Brunswick and St. Simons Island.
Jean married John Jackson ("Jack") Hart in 1962, and together they built Jack's Minit Market, a family business in Southeast Georgia. Jean's true passion was creating a warm and welcoming home. She loved crocheting intricate blankets and doilies, gifts that became treasured keepsakes for family and friends. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy—where she prepared meals and shared her famous fudge, a treat loved by all.
Jean had a playful side and delighted in friendly card games, often emerging as the winner. She had a generous heart and took many opportunities to help her family and friends. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Travis Hart; her parents; and her brothers, Walter C. Pittman and Robert M. Pittman. Jean's legacy lives on through her children: Linda Carol Toler of Townsend, Georgia; Rocann Hart Eliason (Bruce) of Draper, Utah; and John Jackson Hart II (Cindy) of Brunswick, Georgia. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren—Amanda Still Rowe, Thomas Wise, Brooke Eliason Bean, Trevor Eliason, Jessica Eliason, Brandon Eliason, Trent Eliason, and Heidi Hart—and six great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on St. Simons Island.
Jean's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, family, and faith. Her warmth, laughter, and generosity will be deeply missed.
