Services to celebrate Jerry's life, will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022, 5:00pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clayton Davis officiating.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service time.

Jerry was born in Ware County to Eddie Smith and Daisy D. Smith Large, and had lived most all of her life in Glynn County.  She was a graduate of Glynn Academy, a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, The Diamond-D Saddle Club, and the Altamaha Park Association.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and was best known as the ice cream loving, dancing Queen Mama J.

Survivors include her children, Charlie Johnson, Lynn Anderson, Cheryl Anderson (Ed), Mary Ann Rowell (Stanley), all of Brunswick, grandchildren, Melissa Thomas (Joe), Shane Anderson (Molly), Travis Anderson (Jennifer), Chad Hutchinson, Megan Ward (Adam), Austin Rowell, and Carrie Rowell, 12 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, a brother, Carroll Smith (Mildred) of Hoboken, several nieces and nephews, her best friend, Johnette Fraser and her River Girls, Sydney Hutchinson, Savannah Outler, and Myrtice Rowell. Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Smith, and Daisy D. Smith Large, her husband of 57 years, Charles L. Johnson, Sr., and her son-in-law, Bill Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
