Boyd D. Cope, 74, of Brunswick, passed away on March 6,2023. He grew up in Homer, IL. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University and used his degree briefly to teach science and coach at South View Jr. High in Danville, IL. His career was being a Prudential agent in Watseka, IL. After retiring to Brunswick he replaced his career with a variety of volunteer opportunities.

Boyd's parents, Dorothy and Wayne Cope, and sister, Melody Rein, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen; daughters, Natalie Mizelle of Brunswick, GA and Dr. Somer (Dan) Lyons of Carson City, NV; grandson, Jackson Mizelle; granddaughters, Madeline and Gwen Lyons; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Greg Vaughn; brother-in-law, Denny Rein; sister-in-law, Marge Bunting; and 6 nephews.

There will be no final services. Instead of spending time at a funeral for Boyd, he requested that all who loved him spend special time with God, either at church, reading the Bible, or praying.
