Brenda McRorie Kennedy, 81, of St. Simons Island passed away Friday, December 12, 2025, at her residence.

A service to celebrate Brenda's life, will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025, 3:00pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Temmers officiating.  The family will be receiving friends from 2:30 until service time.

Brenda was born December 5, 1944, in Douglas, GA, to Earl Estridge and Eugenia Wooten McRorie.  She was a 1961 graduate of Coffee County High School.  After graduating High School, she moved to Glynn County and enrolled in Brunswick Beauty College.  She was a Master Cosmetologist and former owner of Island Hair Port, retiring in 2024, and attended Community Church of St. Simons.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 27 years, Rusty Kennedy of St. Simons Island, a son, Brendon Lee Kirkland of Brunswick, stepchildren, Lee Kennedy (Lindsey battle) of St. Simons Island, Stephanie Anderson (Steve) of Destin, FL, sisters, Linda Jane Ogden of Odum, GA, and Wanda Mae Bookout of West Green, GA, grandchildren, Land Kennedy, Hamp Kennedy, Dylan Anderson, and Wylie Anderson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Roy Lee McRorie and Elbert McRorie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to any charity of the donor's choice.
