Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Brian served in the United States Navy and loved every minute of his career as a Course Developer and Firearms Instructor with the ICE ERO Academy in Glynco, Georgia.  He was a member of the ICE National Pistol Team, competed extensively in multiple national shooting competitions and won many awards.  Brian was an accomplished marksman, avid reader, skilled craftsman and funny guy.  Brian was a committed husband and father.

Brian married the love of his life, Alycia, with whom he raised two sons, Alex and Max. Brian loved reading and learning new things and sharing the joy he experienced.  He always knew how to strike the right chord with those around him and had a rare ability to bring people together.  His death is a tragic loss for his family, friends, and colleagues.

He is survived by his bodacious wife of 28 years, Alycia Maier-Turner; his son, Alexander Maier, and his daughter-in-law, Monica Vermillion Maier; his two grandchildren, Ava and Vivian Maier; his son, Maximilian Turner; his mother, Evelyn Turner; his sister, Teri Utter, his sister-in-law, Trena Turner; as well as his nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Turner and his brother, John Turner.

Close family and friends will celebrate his life on Sunday, June 5 at 1 pm at the Brunswick Shrine Club. In lieu of flowers, the Turner family is establishing a foundation in Brian's honor focused on literacy and firearms education for youth.  In the interim, donations should be made payable to Alycia Maier-Turner with "In honor of Brian Turner" in the memo line.
