A service to Celebrate Brooks life will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, 10:00am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Bishop Neal Wilkerson officiating.  Interment will follow with Al Chapman, III, Mark Lang, Cody Blades, Jeff Stokes, Brent Miller, Jake Duncan, Jimmy Duncan, and Aaron Little serving as active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Coastal Georgia Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and member of the Golden Isles Hunting Club.  A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, February 10, 2023, from 5:00 until 7:00pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel.

Brooks was born October 26, 1981, in Brunswick, to Mark and Robin McDonald.  He had lived in Brunswick all of his life, attending Glynn County Schools, graduating from Glynn Academy in 2000.  Brooks was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served in the Bishopric as First Counselor to the Bishop.  After high school he devoted two years of his life and served as a missionary in the Philippines Bacolod Mission from 2001-2003.  He loved flying, hunting, fishing, and surfing.  He was a member of Coastal Georgia Chapter of Ducks Unlimited since 2013, and chapter President since 2014.  He was the Vice President of M.D. McDonald Construction and was a Certified Healthcare Contractor.

Brooks is survived by his wife, Cassie McDonald, their children, Bristol Sage, Hadley Anne, Finley Brooke, and Cannon Brooks, all of Brunswick, his parents, Mark & Robin McDonald of St. Simons Island, a brother, Mark McDonald, Jr., his wife Kara, and their children, Alexa, Austin, and Josiah, all of Mocksville, NC, a sister, Jessica Atwood,  (Aaron) and her children, Charley, Gavin, and Bailey, all of West Haven, Utah, grandfather, Tommy Stewart (Lynn) of Brunswick, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Marlene Padgett, Frances Ann Durant, grandfather, William A. McDonald and nephew Tristan McDonald.
