Carole was a Christian by faith and was an active member of her Sunday school class at Pine Ridge Baptist and Pine Haven Baptist Church. She was an excellent mother and raised three outstanding children whom she was immensely proud of. Carole enjoyed walking a mile every day and loved rooting for her grandkids' teams: the UGA Football team and Brunswick Pirates High School games. However, it was a house divided, as she also had a University of Florida graduate. Her biggest joy was her family.
Left to cherish Carole's memory are her three children: Alicia Kirkland Jones (Former spouse Dan Jones), Brad Kirkland (Mickey), Chris Kirkland; two sisters: Polly Overstreet, Donna Butler (Roy); four grandchildren: Ansley Leighton Jones, Joseph Daniel Jones, III, A.J. Kirkland, Zak Kirkland. She also had many nieces and nephews: Melissa Welford, Brad Overstreet, Lynn Henderson, Jay Douberly, Kayla Smith, Ansley Rowland, Chris Kennedy, and Catherine McDougald (Chris), Leighton Howard, and Jayla Howard.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny Kirkland; her first born son, William Donald Kirkland; a brother, Buddy Drury; sister, Elaine Henderson; niece, Jennifer Douberly Howard; and her parents.
A memorial service for Carole Drury Kirkland will be Friday October 14, 2022, 6:00pm at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Keith Powell officiating, a visitation being held from 5:00pm util service time. In
