Obituary

Caroline Dolores Galati,86, of Waverley, Georgia passed away peacefully on October 6,2023 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to her parents; the late Katherine (Hupperich) and the late Joseph Verdi Galati. Her mother later remarried the late Mr. George Semon of Indiana, who became Caroline's loving father and a wonderful grandfather. Caroline adored her mother and stepfather George and attributed her happy childhood to their loving care.

Caroline was a loving and devoted mother to her surviving children; Carol, Andrea, Thomas Speyer, and Steven Hess (Jeanette), and her dear grandchildren; Brandon, Cara, Marisa, Nino, Georgio, Trisha, Katherine, Nicole H, Dean, Jason, and Nicole, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, a beloved niece, Santa (Tom), and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her much adored siblings; Sister Rosemary (Louis) and her bothers; Paul, Mario, and Joseph. She was also a loyal best friend and companion for many years to Mr. James Moxon of Waverly, Georgia. Caroline's family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Caroline studied to become a nurse and was a devoted and loving caregiver on Jekyll Island to the McKinley and Horton families for over 30 years. She loved and cared for them as if they were her own parents. She was also a good and dear friend to many. Her sincere benevolence was lifelong and genuine as she would often donate her time, gifts, and resources to anyone who needed help; including bringing home cooked meals to her elderly neighbors, donating clothes, toys, personally deliver fruit baskets to the local police and fire departments, and was a lifelong supporter of her favorite charities.

Caroline will be remembered for her loyalty, kind heart, warm eyes, and her beautiful smile. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in Brunswick. As we mourn our loss, we take comfort in knowing her legacy and spirit will live on forever in our hearts and because of her enduring love for God and His promises. ~Psalm 23
