Catherine Sloan Bailey, 76, of Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Jolly House of Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Catherine was born in Brunswick August 8, 1946, to James Henry and Pearl Portulas Sloan, she attended St. Joeseph's Catholic School, which would later become St. Francis Xavier Catholic School.  She was a 1964 graduate of Glynn Academy and attended Brunswick Junior College.  Catherine worked for King Shrimp Company, Georgia Highway Express, Chapman Waste Disposal, and retired from Waste Management Services. She was the co-owner of Flowers By Ken with her former husband Ken Bailey until its closing in 1995.  She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and enjoyed fishing off the dock, old movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her sister, Pearl "Dusty" Sloan, nieces, Allyson Chapman and Sloan Chapman Tindall, all of Brunswick, a nephew, Al Chapman, III, and his wife Chrissy, of Statesboro, great nieces, Hannah Tindall, and Logan Tindall, nephews, Timothy Tindall, Landon Chapman, and Reid Chapman, and numerous cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mary Sloan Chapman.

Funeral services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Thursday, December 29, 2022, 2:00PM, with burial to follow at Palmetto Cemetery.
