Charles William Van Buren, III, 76, of Brunswick, passed away early Saturday morning, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

Charles was born March 15, 1945, in Brunswick.  He had lived most of his life in Brunswick, attended Glynn Academy, graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School in New Jersey, and received his Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing from the University of Georgia.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam, and enjoyed fishing, boating, and being on the water.  He was of the Episcopal faith.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Peggy Van Buren, sons, Joseph 'Jody' Van Buren (Jennifer) of Brunswick, and David Van Buren (Amy) of Anderson, SC, a daughter-in-law, Connie Van Buren of Clearwater, FL, sisters, Beth Nazzrie and Julie Griffis, both of Brunswick, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Julius Harper, a son, Bill Van Buren, and a sister, Pat Collins.

A private service will be held at a later date to celebrate Charles' life.
