Obituary

John Christopher Kirkland, 52, of Brunswick, passed away Monday, July 8,2024.

Chris was born January 22, 1972, to Farrell James Kirkland and Verla 'Pat' Jacobs Kirkland.  He attended Brunswick High School and was employed by Griffis Steel.  He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Chris recently celebrated five and a half years of sobriety and was very proud of being a member the 5 o'clock literature hour at Cate Road 12-12 Club.  Chris was the owner of Spotlight Entertainment and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, Karaoke, Barbequing, and refurbishing guns.

He is survived by his wife of 23, years Echo Eve Kirkland, mother, Pat Kirkland of Brunswick, children, Kayla Bennett (Harley), of Brunswick, Andrew Hulse of Pennsylvania, Lynsey Evans (Patrick Bane) of Florida, Kelsea Tanner (Dylan) of Jacksonville, Christopher Kirkland of Brunswick, Bethany Evans (Griffin) of Brunswick, Noah Kirkland of Brunswick, brothers, James Ben Kirkland, Josh Kirkland (Amanda), Courtney Rauscher (Chris) all of Brunswick, sister-in-law, Harmony Swaney (P.J.), grandchildren, Piper Evans, Paxton Bane, Aubrey Tanner, mother-in-law, Luann Uphold, his former wife, Debi Staten,  his favorite companion, 'Charlie', and numerous nieces & nephews. He his preceded in death by his father, Farrell Kirkland, sister, Laura Kirkland, grandparents, John D Beach, Juanita L. Beach, and brother-in-law, James Uphold III.

Services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024, 12:00 pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Bishop Corey Pittman officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Preston Lewis, James Kirkland, Josh Kirkland, Andrew Hulse, Christopher Kirkland, P.J. Swaney, and Shawn Brazzel serving as active pallbearers.  A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at Chapman Funeral Chapel.
