Christine "Chris" Marie Clarke, age 67, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Hospice of The Golden Isles.

Chris, above all else, loved her children immensely. She was a lover of dogs, the beach, road trips, books, and was always up for a good cup of coffee. A single look from her could send you into fits of laughter. She loved to rock a VW Bug now and then. Chris had them in many colors over the years, always listening to her Oldies. Her support and devotion to those she loved was unmatched. Her children and grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy in life. The legacy of her kind spirit, passion for helping others, love for reading, and zest for life will live on through them. She left this world peacefully, in true Chris fashion, when she was ready and with her children at her side.

Chris was a beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, daughter and friend. After 18 years, she now reunites with her late husband, Walter C. Clarke. Born in Brunswick, Georgia, she is the daughter of Jack S. Powell Jr. and Jo-Anne Monroe Powell.

She is survived by her children; Skeeter Janousek; Wendee Hope and husband, Lee; grandchildren: Savannah Janousek, Jake Hope, Easton Janousek, Blakely Hope, Maddox Janousek; brother: Jack S. Powell III; aunt: Patricia Potts; niece: Beth Francisco; nephews: Robert Francisco Jr.; Jack Powell.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 18, in the evening from 5 until 7 at Chapman Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 19, at 11 am, Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick.
