Obituary

Christopher Winn Gendron, 60, of Brunswick, passed away, Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, from the gravesite at Evergreen Cemetery, at 10:00am, with military honors provided by the United States Air Force.

Chris was born June 25, 1964, in Wolfeboro, NH, to Philip Louis Gendron and Christine Marian Edwards Gendron.  Other than his military career, he had lived in Brunswick most of his life.  Chris was a dedicated veteran retiring from the United States Air Force, and serving also with the United States Marine Corps, and the United States Army. Some of his many decorations include: Bronze Star with 1 oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal With 3 oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 3 oak leaf clusters, Navy Unit Commendation, Combat Readiness Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal with 1 star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, etc.  Chris was an active member of the TACP Association, My Brother's Keeper, Everett City Hunting Club, and Altamaha Park Association.

Survivors include his wife, Liberty Moore, daughter, Savannah Checketts, son-in-law, Robin Checketts, grandson, Oliver Loren Checketts, step-sons, Parker Haray and Tait Stewart, a sister, Ann Wheeler, a niece, Susan Coleman, and numerous other nieces and nephews.  Chris was preceded in death by his sisters, Lisa Gendron and Linda Lewis, his parents, Philip and Christine Gendron, and wives, Rachel Gendron and Shannan Gendron.
