Daniel 'Punky' Emory Banfield, 53, of Darien, passed away February 19, 2026, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

At his request, no services will be held.

Daniel was born in Jacksonville, Florida on March 18, 1972.  He had lived in McIntosh County most of his life and was employed by HES Facilities Management working as a custodian at McIntosh County Academy, McIntosh County Middle School, and Todd Grant Elementary.  He also had worked as a cook at Waffle House of Darien and Huddle House of Eulonia.  Daniel was a real country boy, he grew up in Briar Patch and loved the outdoors, he enjoyed going crabbing and eating all kinds of seafood.  He loved being with family and was very well loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Talonda Goodman, children, Danielle Rozier, Keonte Banfield, and Ashley Goodman, grandchildren, Taylor Rozier, Javis Daniel, Jr., Jaela Daniel and Delihla Harris, a sister, Cheryl Banfield, nephews, Te'von Harris (Jhoseling) and Demarcus Harris, and a niece, Latasia Harris.
