Daniel Shepherd Tidball

69 years old of Brunswick, GA went to be with Jesus on August 28, 2021. He passed away at home after returning from a recent stay at a rehab care center due to infection in his leg, which was amputated 5 months ago.

Born in East Liverpool, Ohio on August 9, 1952, to Rev Paul and Louise Tidball.  When he was age 5 his family moved to Cleveland Ohio. Dan graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army for six years which included a tour in Viet Nam.  He returned to civilian life; in 1974 he married Beverly Campbell Claflin. They lived in San Diego CA for several years where he attended San Diego State for a couple of those years. In 1977 they moved to Atlanta GA where he was a salesman. After Beverly's death in 2009, he moved to Brunswick GA. where he totally so enjoyed his place at "The Retreat". He enjoyed the swimming pool, which was one of his favorite spots to spend a sunny afternoon. He often would sit in his favorite rocker at the office front door to watch while the kids got off the school bus to be sure they were all safe.

Dan was a fun-loving guy. He loved to play cards, even if he often was not the winner! He loved to listen to music. He enjoyed taking drives in his red convertible to the ocean at Jekyll and St Simon Islands. He also had a love for dogs and cats.

Preceding him in death were his parents Paul & Louise Tidball, stepmother Judith Gentry Tidball, his wife Beverly (Beav), and his brother David Tidball. Grateful for having Dan in their lives are his daughter Tifanee Tidball of Grayson GA, his stepson Jim (Ashley) Claflin of Hoschton GA, his sisters Grace Tidball of Sioux Falls SD, Gloria (Bill) Henderson of Greenfield IN, and Joy (Barney) Wehunt of Brunswick GA, and his grandchildren Chase and Madison, and his nieces and nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coastal Hospice of Georgia Foundation on St Simons Island.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 2 pm at Chapman Funeral Chapel in Brunswick, GA.  Family will be present at 1 p.m. for visitation. Refreshments and fellowship will follow at "The Retreat" Pavilion. His ashes will be buried by his wife Beverly in Snellville, GA.
