David Wayne Godwin, 79, of Brunswick, GA passed away July 28, 2022, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Wayne was born October 14, 1942, in Brunswick GA, the son of Baxter and Thelma Godwin.

He graduated from Glynn Academy, class of 1960. Following graduation, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked at Brunswick Pulp & Paper/Georgia Pacific for almost 40 years before retiring.

Wayne will always be remembered as a loving brother, husband, dad, papa and friend throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, baby Godwin, brother, Billy Godwin, and wife, Peggy Godwin.

Survivors include his son, David Godwin and his wife, Kristen, of Brunswick; his daughter, Leigh Hoppey and her husband, Mike, of Brunswick; grandchildren Riley Godwin, Walker Godwin, Jami Nelson, Nicholas Hoppey, Megan Fredericks, Samantha Fredericks; great grandchildren Lydia Nelson, Mailee Fredericks, Jace Fredericks and Zaleigh Gee; his niece, Debbie Duncan and her son, Chris Howes, and her daughters Kristin McGowan and Alexandria "Ally" Godwin Howes.

A private service will be held at a later date.
