Dennis Michael "Mike" Council, age 62, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully at his home after a lengthy illness on April 15, 2023.  Mike was born on April 1, 1961, in Darien, GA, to Robert and Delree Drury Council.  Mike spent his formative years in Pratt, Kansas, graduating from Pratt High School 1979, and returned to Brunswick where he has resided for the past 38 years.  Mike worked for Glynn County Public Works as a surveyor, after his retirement, he worked for many years at Sonny's BBQ.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Delree Drury Staats, his father, Robert Staats, his brother Bobby Council, all of Brunswick, GA.

Mike is survived by his wife, Tina Melton Neff Council of Brunswick, one son, Ryan Neff of Waverly, GA, two daughters, Chrystal Dawn Pickens of Jacksonville. FL , Heather Lynn Ellis of Gainesville, FL, and one grandson, Owen Neff of Waverly 3 granddaughters, Madison Ellis, of Gainesville, FL, Audrey Pickens and Natalie Pickins, both of Jacksonville, FL, Also, two brothers, Donnie Council (Marilyn), of Albany, GA, Pete Staats (Holly) of Brunswick, GA, and one sister, Debbie Council Anthony (Wade), of Pratt, KS, a sister-in-law, Freda Underwood (Michael) of Hortense.  Mike was also blessed with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his precious fur baby, Man-Man.

A Memorial Service for Mike will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Sterling Baptist Church, 7071 New Jesup Highway, Brunswick, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that Memorial Contributions be made to Chapman Funeral Chapel for assistance with funeral expenses.
