Dixie Lee Hayes, 78, of Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Hospice of the Golden Isles.  Dixie was born September 19, 1945, in Gypsum, CO, to Garland and Ruth Bertroch.  Coming from Colorado, she had lived in Brunswick for the past 11 years.  She loved God and family, enjoyed painting, playing guitar, and singing, and was an avid collector of cowboy boots.

A private service to celebrate her life, will be held at a later date.

Dixie is survived by her children, Karen Griffin (Andy) of Brunswick, Robin Lee Howard (Josh) of Statesboro, Michele Rudlong (Stephen) of New York, Matt Hayes (Shannon) of Arizona, special; friends, Mary Ann, Louisa, Cookie, and Miriam, 12 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter, Saylah.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Hayes, and a son Michael Hayes.
