Domiciano Broce, known as "Domy" for short entered the Kingdom of God peacefully on Monday, June 2nd 2025 in Fernandina Beach, Florida where he lived with his youngest daughter, Karen Sorina Neaverth, and her family.

Born April 29, 1931 in La Palma, Republic of Panama he grew up poor on his family's farm. At 11 years old he lost both parents within 6 months of each other.

In 1960 at age 29 knowing very little English, he immigrated to the United Stares to attend Louisiana Tech on a scholarship where he got his Bachelor's. He went on to earn his Master's and PhD in Food Science from LSU. He loved his LSU tigers and all college football with a passion.

In 1969 he moved to Brunswick, Ga. to take his first job out of college at King & Prince Seafood Corporation where he worked as a loyal employee for 31 years. When he retired at age 69 he was the the Vice President of Quality Control & Research & Development. He was an integral part of the company's success since he created their line of seafood products. As one of his coworkers raised his glass in a toast he said, "To Domy Broce because of him we have a very comfortable retirement."

He worked very hard to achieve the American dream. He was a proud citizen. He loved this country dearly. He was so thankful for all the opportunities it gave him. He wanted to share this opportunity with his Panamanian children. He brought them to the USA to learn English and make their own success stories here.

Domy loved Brunswick & The Golden Isles. It was his home for 36 years from 1969 to 2005 and where he and his family attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He lived by the word or God through his actions. He gave freely of his money, his time, and his love. He was never one to say a bad word against anyone even those who wronged him. He forgave willingly and never held a grudge.

He enjoyed nature and planting trees. He loved cooking, creating new recipes and seasoning blends. He loved imparting his love of his faith, cooking, gardening, exercising, and words of wisdom to his children and grandchildren. He never forgot his Panamanian roots. He would visit his family in Panama regularly bringing them gifts every time. He loved animals, especially dogs. He loved going for walks on the beach on Jekyll Island with his children, grandchildren and their dogs. In his later years he loved birthday cake and ice cream.

At age 40 he made a promise to himself to exercise everyday rain or shine, cold or hot so that he could see all of his children grow into adults. He was blessed to live a long and full life of 94 years. Not only did he see his 7 children grow to be seniors, but he was able to see some of his grandkids reach middle age and some great grandkids graduate high school.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June, 11th from 4 pm to 6 pm at Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematorium in Brunswick, Ga. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Thursday, June 12th at 10:00 am with a graveside service immediately following at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on St.Simons Island, Ga.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years Mercedes Broce, sons Ricardo Broce (Evila) of Chorrera, Rep. of Panama, Herman "Kaki" Broce (Doris) of Anton, Rep of Panama, daughters Marlene Bennett Broce (Rick) of Gainesville, Fl,  Ima Broce of Panama, Rep. of Panama, and Karen Sorina Neaverth (Jim) of Fernandina Beach, Fl; grandchildren Ricardo Jr. of Miami, Fl, David Broce (Damelys) of Chorrera, Rep. of Panama, Ingid Broce of Penonome, Rep. of Panama, Lacey Milena Broce of Panama, Rep. of Panama; Christina Bennett Wiley of Gainesville, Fl, Rachel Bennett of Gainesville, Fl, Caroline Bennett of Cahuita, Costa Rica, Gabriel Neaverth of Fernandina Beach, Fl, and Abby Neaverth of Tallahassee, Fl; great grandchildren Gia Broce of Chorrera, Rep. of Panama, Ameli of Chorrera, Rep. of Panama, Harvies Cardenas of Penonome, Rep. of Panama, Hernan Valdez of Penonome, Rep.of Panama, Layla Moss of Tampa, Fl, Jade Haven of Gainesville, Fl, and Cora Haven of Gainesville, Fl., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in both the United States and Panama.
