Eddy Ray Beaver, 62, of Nahunta, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Funeral services with military honors, will be held from the grave site at New Hope Cemetery in Hickox, Tuesday at 11:00am, with Brother Michael Foreman officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Chapman Funeral Chapel from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Monday evening.
Mr. Beaver was born August 15, 1955, in Ravia, OK, to Bud and Cleo Story Beaver. He was retired from the Unites States Navy serving during Dessert Storm. After his retirement from the Navy, he was employed as a jailor by the Brantley County Sheriff's Department, and later as a security officer with the Georgia Ports Authority. He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.
Survivors include his children, Justin Beaver (Anna) of Sparta, TN, Dylan Beaver of Cookville, TN, and Kayla Beaver of Crossville, TN, the mother of his children, Shirley Lunsford of Nahunta, a brother, Kenneth Beaver of Washington, sisters, Kathleen Beaver Raines and Oma Ruth Beaver of Oklahoma, and four grandchildren, Mackenzie Beaver, Bella Beaver, Stetson Beaver, and Alexus Smith.
