Edna Louise Harris, 88, of Darien, passed away at her daughter's residence Saturday, April 9th, 2022.

Edna was born December 7, 1933 to Alice Carver and Jim Corbitt in Willacoochee, Georgia. She graduated "Class of 1951" at Pearson High School.  She moved to Waycross, where she met and soon married Robert Griffin, who served in the USAF. They had 5 children together. While living in England she found God and was baptized in the name of the Father,Son,  and the Holy Ghost. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Darien. She loved to sing and had many songs recorded such as "Edna Sings For The Lord". Edna worked as a bookkeeper and retired from the Darien Bank. Edna enjoyed traveling and dressing in the latest fashions. Crocheting and knitting in her spare time, and spending time with her church Family. She was an excellent mother and homemaker, and will be greatly missed by everyone she knew.

Left to cherish her memory are her  four children, Mickey Griffin, Judy (Tommie) Sweat, Pat  (Kenny) Atwood, Robert (Jennifer) Griffin;  11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Johnny Harris, her son Richard Griffin, her great grandson David Atwood, and both of her parents.

Graveside services for Edna will be held Friday, April 15th, 2022 at Whispering Pines Cemetery in Darien, at 11 am with Pastor Mike Lynn officiating and David Riddle will be singing some of their beloved songs. Tommie Sweat Jr., Todd Sweat, John Paul Sweat, Greg Atwood, Tony Atwood, and Tony Atwood Jr. will be serving as active pallbearers.

Chapman Funeral Chapel will be in charge of the arrangements.
