Edwin Howard Blackburn, of Darien, born September 6, 1936, in Surry County, NC, to George & Callie Blackburn.

In 1945, the Blackburn family moved to Sapelo Island, in 1954 Ed attended the University of Georgia graduating in 1960 with a veterinarian degree, and moving to Central Florida.  In 1995, Ed returned to Darien, continuing to care for small animals, retiring from animal care in 2011.
