Edwin F. Lunsford, 77, sadly passed away on Feb. 9, 2026, at the Crisp Regional Hospital, in Cordele.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1948, in Tifton, to Homer L. Lunsford and Jewell Lee Williamson Lunsford. The family moved to Cairo shortly after he was born. Ed attended school in Cairo and graduated with the Glynn Academy Class of 1966, in Brunswick.

After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force on April 11, 1972. He continued working with aircraft at Lockheed-Martin, in Marietta.

He is survived by his sister, Joyce L. Strickland and brother-in-law, Jerry L. Strickland; niece, Beverly Bradham; great-niece, Shelby Bradham; several cousins, great-niece and great-nephew.

A Service will be held from the gravesite at Palmetto Cemetery March 24th, 2026, at 1:00pm, with Rev. Ken Creekmore officiating.  Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Robert Michael Lunsford; and nephew, David Scott Strickland.
