Elizabeth Ann "Lisa" Weth passed from this Earth to her eternal rest on Friday, March 31 st , 2023. Lisa was born on August 29, 1961, in Arlington, Virginia to Mr. Walter "Frank" Stevens of Arlington, Virginia and Mrs. Phyllis "Velma" Stevens of Falls Church, Virginia.
Lisa moved with her family from Arlington, Virginia to Brunswick, Georgia in 1976 after her father accepted a position with the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco. After graduating from Brunswick High School in 1979, Lisa went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Georgia in 1983. Lisa completed graduate level coursework in accounting and worked for numerous area businesses and government agencies in accounting and finance roles. Most recently, Lisa worked for the McIntosh County Board of Commissioners.
In November 1985, Lisa joined the Alpha Psi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Brunswick, Georgia. She was also a dedicated member of different church families in Brunswick and Darien, including New Day Christian Fellowship and The Father's House. Lisa truly never met a stranger, and forged strong and everlasting relationships with friends from her childhood in Virginia to her adult life in the Golden Isles.
Lisa was preceded in death by her brother Frank Stevens II, her grandparents Mr. Walter Stevens and Mrs. Frances Stevens, her grandparents Mr. Patrick Gorman III and Mrs. Lydia Gorman, her aunt Margaret Gorman Lawson, her uncle Patrick Gorman VI, and her cousins Mark Winstead and Michael Winstead.
She is survived by her husband and love of her life Joe, her son Chris Hager (Spring), grandchildren Jase and Ridge Hager, her parents Frank Stevens and Velma Stevens, her mother-in-law [Betty], her sister Catherine Varnedoe (Ken), her brother-in-law, Jim, and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lisa is also survived by many friends and chosen family members.
A celebration of Lisa's life will take place on Tuesday, April 11 th at 5:30 PM at Chapman Funeral Chapel in Brunswick, Georgia, followed by visitation immediately after.
