Brian Sweat, 58, of Hortense, passed away August 19, 2025, at his residence.

A gathering to celebrate Brian's life, will be held Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Chapman Event Center, 6045 Golden Isles Parkway, Brunswick, from 3:oopm until 6:00pm.

Brian was born January 31, 1967, in Gainesville, FL, to Alvin Troy Sweat and Alma Leola McDuffie Sweat.  He had lived most of his life in Brunswick, he had lived in Guyton and Savannah from 1997 until 2018 then to Hortense, where he has lived for the past 6 years.  Brian was an Industrial Painter, he loved all animals and was a member of the ASPC, and of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his siblings; Lena Wiggins (Kevin) of Darien, Greg Sweat (Kristi) of Brunswick, Faye Sweat, Lana Folts (Jeff), and Kathye McCullar, all of Brantley County, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Brian was preceded in death by his father; Alvin Troy Sweat. his mother, Alma Leola McDuffie Bunkley, siblings; Jimmy Nix, Wiley Nix, Vernon Sweat, Timmy Sweat, Kenny Sweat, and Myra Faye Sweat.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you plant a tree in memory of Brian.
