Eugene V. Kieger, 87, of Townsend, passed away Monday, February19, 2018, at Coastal Manor Nursing Home in Ludowici.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018, 11:00 AM, at Morgan's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Grant Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with the Christian Men's Fellowship serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Morgan's Chapel United Methodist Church Choir. A visitation for family and friends, will be held at the church, one hour prior to service time.
Survivors include his children, Jeri & Larry Ridenhour, and Diane & Herb Kempert, all of Townsend, 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Wallace Kieger, a daughter, Alberta Geloneck, and a son, Bill Polk.
Mr. Kieger was born May 30, 1930, in St. Paul, MN. He had been a resident of Townsend for the past 30 years, and was a member of Morgan's Chapel United Methodist Church, the church choir, the Christian Men's Fellowship, and the Darien Community Choir. He was retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years, serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to any Hospice organization.
