Frances Diane Lott, 77, of Brunswick, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Wednesday, October 9, 2024, 11:00 am.

Diane was born in Brunswick, January 2, 1947, to Emmett Michael Lott and Gertrude R. Lott.  She attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, and graduated from Glynn Academy with the Class of 1964.  Diane attended Georgia Southern College, graduating in 1968 with a B.S. in Education.  She moved to Atlanta, where she lived for 27 years, and worked as an educator with the Clayton County School System, and also worked part-time for over 20 years in ticket sales with the Atlanta Braves returning to Brunswick in 2004.  Diane was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where she served with the Alter and Environmental Ministry, Council of Catholic Women, the Bereavement Committee and the Parish Council.  She was in charge of the flowers and the Parrish greenhouse and was the recipient of the Anne Marie Morris Award, and the prestigious Bishop's Gartland Award for service to her parish.

Survivors include her sister, Dr. Juanita Yvonne Lott of Brunswick, a nephew, George Leotis Lott, his wife Katelyn, and their daughter Lily, all of Atlanta, and numerous cousins.

We are heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Diane, who always had a smile for her friends and others that she met.  Words cannot express how much she is loved and already missed so very much.  When our Lord called her home, she didn't leave alone for a part of OUR heart went with her. So we accept for love of her, the joys and sorrows of her passing life, and one day we will be reunited in heaven for all eternity.
