Francis 'Frank' George Grovola, Jr., 80, of Brunswick, passed away Monday, January 8, 2019, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019, 10:00AM, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Combs officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Palmetto Cemetery, with Jeff Chapman, Bruce Wood, Wayne Doke, Joe Strickland, Chuck Booth, and Richard (Dickey)Culpepper serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Grubb and staff, Dr Heery and staff.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at Chapman Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Grovola was born March 24, 1938, in Chester, PA. He had moved to Brunswick in 1958, stationed at NAS Glynco, while serving with the United States Navy. Mr. Grovola was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, was an active member of Woodmen of the World, was a volunteer with MAP International, and was an avid automobile enthusiast.
Survivors include, his wife of 58 years, Rita G. Grovola, a son, Terry Grovola (Lynda), a daughter, Karen G. Thompson, all of Brunswick, a brother, Joe Grovola of San Diego, CA, sisters, Ruthann Walker of Delaware, and Maria Hassel of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Jason Brandies (Brooke), Brandon Gregory (Jill), Amanda Grovola, T.J. Grovola, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
