Gary Lynn Byrd, 58, of Brunswick, passed away January 3, 2018, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018, 12:00 at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bobby Williamson and Brother Jeff Miller officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Emanuel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Ernie Tyson, Alferd Drury, Clifford Morgan, Jim Byrd, Ricky Sapp, Steve Byrd, Ronnie Barwick, Cody Mosley serving as active pallbearers.
Gary was born in Alma, GA, November 24, 1959 to James Russell and Carolyn Sapp Byrd. He lived all of his life in Brunswick, graduating from Glynn Academy in 1977. He was an avid outdoors man, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping, and attended Bible Baptist Church and Bay Harbor Church of God.
Survivors include his wife - Donna Harris Byrd, his mother, Carolyn Byrd, a daughter, Brandi Byrd Rowland, a grandson Caidyn Rowland, all of Brunswick, 2 brothers, James Gregory Byrd of Brunswick, and Russell Andrew Byrd (Kelli) of Murfreesboro, TN. Gary was preceded in death by his father James Russell Byrd.
