Howard 'Butch' Franklin Brogdon Sr.,66, died Sunday, August 18,2024 at Brunswick's Southeast Georgia Health System after an extended illness.

He graduated from Brunswick Glynn Academy class of 1975, where he played football. Howard worked as a senior operator at Hercules in the turpine resin department for 15 years and owned and operated Brogdon Construction with his wife. Howard went back to school and received his HVAC license and worked for many years in hotel maintenance and Glynn Pine Apartments. He retired due to health issues.

He enjoyed fishing, college football, watching The Walton's and Andy Griffith on television, and spending time with family and friends. He was an excellent father and husband.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Rochelle Brogdon, children, Howard Brogdon Jr., Jeffrey Brogdon (DeeDee), Kevin Brogdon of Brunswick, Randall C. Bullard (Cathy) of Jacksonville, Ryan Bullard (Nicole), three grandchildren, Dawson and Liam from West Palm Beach, and Linton Chaffin (Breanna), sister, Dawn Alexander (Jerry),two nieces, Gina and Elise of Brunswick, and one great-grandchild, Ryleigh Jo and lots of extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents; Homer 'Bud' Brogdon and Myrtice Brogdon.

A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 pm Wednesday, August 21,2024 at Chapman Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Howard's honor to St. Jude Research Children's Hospital: 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
