Idell Jackson Harvey, 86, of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Southeast Georgia Health System.

Idell was born January 14, 1938, to Harvey and Beulah Jackson.  She had lived in Brunswick most of her life and attended Glynn Baptist Church.  Idell's back porch was her sanctuary, where enjoyed watching the birds around her many bird houses, and watching the tide rise and fall in the canal.  She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her yard, and fishing.  She loved her family immensely and had a personal relationship with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Idell is survived by her children, Kathryn Dawson (Perry) of Charleston, S.C., and David Harvey (Melony) of Brunswick, grandchildren, Courtney Bratcher (Manuel), Amber Jackson (William), Corey Geiger, Lauren Morgan (Nikki), Brittany Rowe (Clayton), Kassie Briggs, and Dustin Harvey, great grandchildren, Gracie Bratcher, Hunter Bratcher, Maddie Barron, Saylor Barron, Chloe Geiger, Marlee Kate Barron, Raelynn Rowe, CJ Geiger, Lila Kate Geiger, Ellie Morgan, Camden Mae Morgan, Oden Briggs, Jackson Briggs, and Atlas Briggs, a sister, Patsy Hansard of Deland, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 9 siblings and a daughter, Susan Geiger-Slaughter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024, 4:00pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, with Clay Rowe, Corey Geiger, C.J. Geiger, Dustin Harvey, Hunter Bratcher, and Morris Worth serving as active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Emanuel Bratcher, Glenn Jackson, Justin Perkins, and Frankie Whitener.  There will be a visitation for family and friends from 3:00 until service time.
