Irene Quesada (Medina)
June 26, 1957 – October 13, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Irene Quesada (Medina) on October 13, 2026.
Irene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose love and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Irene was born on June 26, 1957, in Laredo, Mexico, to Rafael Medina and Lillie Garcia. She later lived in Laredo, Texas, before moving to San Antonio, where she raised her six children and devoted herself to her family. Irene spent many years in Eagle Pass, Texas, where she owned and operated a restaurant. It was during this chapter of her life that she met Joe Quesada, Sr., in 2012. Together, they later moved to Brunswick, Georgia, in 2016, where they made their home.
Above all else, Irene treasured her family. Her life was centered around the people she loved, and she leaves behind a large family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Quesada, Sr.; her parents, Rafael Medina and Lillie Garcia; and her siblings, Bellanira Campos and Rafael Medina, Jr. She is survived by her six children: Thomas (Marcy) Garcia, Veronica (Tom) Morgan, Elizabeth (Victor) Ramirez, Elvia Garcia, Hector (Megan) Garcia, Jr., and Adrianna Garcia. She is also survived by her siblings, Manuel Medina, Patricia Garcia, and Pedro Medina; and her stepchildren, Jose Angel Quesada, Jr.; Maria Rebecca (the late Eric) Dugger; and Christina Elizabeth Zaragoza. Irene’s legacy continues through her 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though her passing came suddenly and leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, Irene will be remembered for the life she lived, the family she created, and the many memories she leaves behind. Her love will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and every life she touched. Irene will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace.
