Jack Smith Powell III, 68, of Brunswick passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, at Southeast Georgia Health System of Brunswick.

Jack was born July 12, 1956, in El Paso, TX, to Jack Smith Powell Jr. and Jo-Anne Monroe Powell.  He grew up in El Paso, TX, moved to Brunswick after graduating High School, and went to work for Hercules, Inc., where he was employed for 20 years.  After retirement from Hercules, Inc., he worked with his brother-in-law, at Walter Clarke Painting.  In 2001, he moved to Indiana, and in 2015 he moved back to Brunswick to be closer to his family and to enjoy retirement.  He enjoyed being on the Altamaha River and would occasionally take week-long trips down the river, camping on the riverbanks.

Survivors include his son, Jack Tyler Powell (Alicia) and his granddaughter, Adalyn Grace Powell, who was his pride and joy, all of Brunswick, a niece, Wendee Hope (Lee), of Townsend, and nephews, Skeeter Janousek (Michelle), and Bobby Francisco, all of Brunswick, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Chris Clarke.
