James William Allen, Sr., 88, of Midway, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.

Services to celebrate Mr. Allen's life, will be held Sunday, May 29, 2022, 3:00 pm, at Dorchester Civic Center in Midway, with Rev. Tim Brown officiating.

James William Allen was born December 12, 1933, in Bartow, GA, one of 13, to Jim and Mary Lizzie Mimbs Allen.  He had lived in Midway for over 30 years, and was a commercial crabber.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Lora Allen, of Midway, sons, Jerry Allen (Dale) of Brunswick, and John Allen (Vicki) of Midway, and a daughter-in-law, Judy Allen of Rye, Colorado, a sister, Dorothy Brierton (Brian) of Tampa, FL, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 of his siblings, and a son, James William 'Jimbo' Allen, Jr.
