James Randall 'Randy' Crosby, 60, of Hortense, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at his residence.
Randy was born November 29, 1962, in Brunswick, GA, living numerous years in Jacksonville, FL, graduating from Nathaniel B. Forrest High School in Jacksonville, FL, in 1982, and was a United States Marine Corps Reservist. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jacksonville, FL, where he was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Carnival Committee. He was medically retired as an emergency vehicle mechanic with Ten-8 Fire Equipment and had lived in Hortense, GA, for the past 5 years. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in Darien, GA and an honorary member of the Waynesville, Georgia Volunteer Fire Department. He loved working on trucks, fishing, camping, archery, shooting, and mostly loved spending time with his family. He was a hard worker, good provider, loved the lord, and was always helping others.
Randy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nadine Crosby of Hortense, GA, his mother, Patricia Wray German (Charles) of Brunswick, GA, daughters, Stephanie Hope Crosby and Christina Michelle Crosby (fiancé Caleb Broski), all of Brunswick, GA, sisters, Belinda Wray Mehler of Jacksonville, FL, and Beth Anders (Derrick) of Yulee, FL, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Jesse James Crosby, Jr.
Prayer and Adoration will begin at 10:00am, Saturday, August 12, 2023, followed by the Eulogy at 10:45am. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am, with Father Esteban Mallar officiating, all to be held at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in Darien, GA, followed by a reception in the church social hall. Inurnment with committal services will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery in Hortense at 2:00pm.
