James Panozzo

James Frank Panozzo, 77, of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026, at UF Health in Jacksonville.

Services to celebrate his life are pending at this time.

James was born November 28, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Daniel Anthony Panozzo and Anne Kaiser Panozzo. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam. Coming from Crown Point, Indiana, he had lived in Brunswick since 1971, and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and was retired from Glynn County Building Inspection Department in 1998. James had been a resident of Demotte, IN and Waynesville, GA for the past 10 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, classic car shows, stock car racing, and being with his dogs.

Survivors include his companion of 10 years, Patty Grubbs, daughters, Teresa Panozzo Shorb (Joel) of Waynesville, and Mari Panozzo Henderson of Nahunta, 3 step-children, brothers, Dan Panozzo (Pat) and Anthony Panozzo all of Crown Point, IN, grandchildren, Darren Shorb of Brunswick, Makailah Caitlin Miller (Austin), Kiyah Henderson, and Markel Henderson all of Nahunta, Davis Flanders of Brunswick, and Layne Shuman of Darien, great grandchildren, Bryson, Blaiden, Kinleigh, and Kaizley Shorb, Kayson, Alora, and Willow Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 32 years, Margo Parsons Panozzo, and his second wife of 9 years, Diane Hale Panozzo.
