Obituary

Janice Passaro Driggers

Born to Life May 22, 1945

Born to Eternal Life July 30, 2026

“ But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. “ (Isaiah 40:31)

Janice Passaro Driggers was born at Fort McClellan, Alabama, on May 22, 1945, to Margaret Mulkey Passaro and Natale Passaro, Jr. She died peacefully at her home on St. Simons Island, Georgia, on Thursday, July 30, 2026, under the care of her dear friend, Gigi Waid.

During her formative years, Janice moved with her family to Chicago, and then settled in Riverside, Illinois. As Janice began to cultivate her passion for interior design, she attended the Chicago School of Art and Design, and the Chicago Academy of Art and Design. This formal training ultimately established Janice for years to come as a gifted and creative interior design professional.

Born into a family with strong Italian roots, Janice also loved learning how to prepare delicious Italian dinners, and she was well known for preparing elaborate meals for her family and friends. One of her favorite memories was a trip to Italy with her sister, as they celebrated their heritage in the same village where her family had lived for many generations.

In 2003, Janice moved to St. Simons Island, Georgia, and worked in interior design until her retirement in 2017. She also met her husband, MGySgt. Robert E. Driggers, Sr., and loved every minute of their life together, until his death on August 19, 2021.

While living in coastal Georgia, Janice became a faithful member of Christian Renewal Church St. Simons, and she shared her love for Jesus Christ with family, friends, and strangers. She was actively involved in several community Bible studies, and she was also faithful at weekly gatherings with Women of Faith, and Prayer 5:17.

Janice is survived by her sister, Susan Passaro of Vero Beach, Florida, her brother, David Passaro and his wife Debra of Wisconsin, her daughter, Deana Guglielmo and husband, Roman Ashmore, and her grandson, Mateo Guglielmo, residing in Washington, D.C., and her daughter, Marisa Guglielmo of Delray Beach, Florida. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janice requested that her sincere gratitude be expressed for the care she received through the Body of Christ, especially from her dear friends, Gigi Waid, Judith Strickland, and Marguerite Houseman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at St. Simons Christian Renewal Church, 6530 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, Georgia, 31522. Her family will be available from 1:30 p.m., until the time of service.
