Jean Sears Underwood passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 4, 2023, 10:00am, at Chapman Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Chris Boyd officiating.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Ricky Underwood, Rudy Underwood, Clyde Underwood, Tony Lane, Joey Carroll, and Leslie Rooks serving as active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearer will be Jamie Overstreet.  A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Chapman Funeral Chapel.

Jean was born January 23, 1940 in Jesup, GA, to George and Lucy Sears.  She had lived in Brunswick for the past 66 years and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.  She was a homemaker, who enjoyed shopping, working in her yard, and going to church.

Survivors include her children, Robert L. Underwood, Sr. (Jeanette), Angela Walkup (Ray), and James L. Underwood (Stephanie), all of Brunswick, sisters, Helen Long of Mt. Pleasant, and Nell Rose Sanders (Ken) of Jesup, grandchildren, Landy, Bubba, Tiger, D.J., Adam, Kayla, and Sydney, 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
