Jerome 'Jesse' Adams, 76, of Waverly, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, 1:30pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Brother James Lamb officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ella Park Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends from 12:30 until service time.

Jesse was born March 25, 1947, in Lexington, NC to Jesse Milton Adams and Rebecca Elmira Horne Adams.  Coming from Jacksonville, Fl, he had lived in Camden County for the past 33 years and was a member of the former Potters Wheel Pentecostal Church of Brunswick.  He a a state licensed General Contractor and owned and operated Jesse Adams Carpentry Service for 25 years in the Brunswick area.  Jesse enjoyed fishing and restoring old cars.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Thelma Lynn Adams, children, DeAnna Adamson (Michael) of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Richard Yarbrough (Denise) of Jacksonville, FL, Kasey Cooper (Trevor), of Corpus Christi, TX, Michael Adams (Haley), of Waverly, GA, and Sandra McQuaig (Bobby) of Kingsland, sisters, Sandra Upthegrove (John), Peggy Glisson, all of Keystone Heights, FL, a brother, Jerry Adams (Marilyn) of Jacksonville, FL, 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Scott Yarbrough, and a sister, Patricia Higgs.
