Jimmie Paul Durrence, Sr., 73, of Brunswick, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.
Services, with Masonic Rites, will be held Thursday, January 1, 2026, 1:00pm at Chapman Funeral Chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Live Oak Lodge 137, Brunswick Lodge 717, and Ocean Lodge 214 F & AM. A reception for family and friends will follow at Pristine Water.
Jimmie was born October 10, 1952, in Tampa, Fl, to James Pharace Durrence and Sylvia Harden Durrence. He moved to Miami, Fl, and then to Ochopee, Fl, in the Everglades, where he owned and operated the Jet Port 66 gas station. In 1978, he moved to Darien to pursue the dream of becoming a commercial fisherman. He worked with law enforcement for a brief time before becoming a boat mechanic. In 1988 he opened Durrence Sales in a shed in his backyard where he was a distributor for Wise Potato Chips, which eventually led to vending, coffee and bottled water services. He moved to Brunswick in 1997 and opened Pristine Water & Pools and dedicated his life of hard work to take care of his family. Eventually he was able to take time off from the business to sail, camp, fish and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Jimmie was a member of Live Oak Lodge 137 F & AM (45 years), Yorkrite St. Elmo #1 and Alee Shrine Clown Unit.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nancy Durrence, a son, Jimmie Durrence, Jr. (Shannon) of Townsend, siblings, Linda Pittman of Darien, Larry Durrence (Laura) of Brunswick, grandchildren, Nicole Durrence (Chris), Jordan Durrence (Maddison), and Dylan Turner, great grandchildren, Rhyleigh Durrence and K.C. Cason, Jr. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sylvia Durrence, and a brother, Darrell Durrence.
Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
