John M. Register, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully, December 22,2023, at Senior Care Center in Brunswick.

John was born Oct. 1, 1950, in Waycross to John Clarence and Frances Massee Register of Waycross and Blackshear.  He was a 1968 graduate of Waycross High School and attended college briefly.  He began his career with Winn-Dixie, moving his way up the ladder from 'bag boy' to store manager, with his latest management position being held at Winn-Dixie on Hwy 341 in Brunswick.  John served with the Georgia Air National Guard as Airman 1st Class, based on St. Simons Island.  Prior to retirement from the Air National Guard, he was honored with receiving the Distinguished Airman of the Year Award.

John is survived by his mother, Frances Massee Register, his sister, Claudia Register, a niece, Hilary Burton, and 2 great nieces.
