Joseph Gerald "Jerry" Parker passed away peacefully on July 26, 2022, at his residence in Brunswick.

He was born on April 27, 1936, in Clarksville, TN, the son of William R. and Eula A. Parker. Jerry was a graduate of Clarksville High School. As a teenager, Jerry worked for the Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle newspaper in distribution and printing before enlisting into the US military.  He served in the US Navy for six years aboard the carriers USS Yorktown and USS Ranger before ending his service at the Glynco Naval Air Station.  Following his discharge, he worked for Brunswick Pulp & Paper/Georgia Pacific before retiring in 1998.

After retirement, Jerry enjoyed spending many mornings with his "Coffee Club Crew" of Chuck Davis, Jimmy Williamson, Richard Gardner, Glen Faber, Bob White, and Joe Martinez

Jerry is survived by his wife Darrell Parker, son Greg Parker (Tracey), four grandchildren - Amelia Parker, Sylas Parker, Megan Mincey and Aaron Jowers, and two great-grandchildren  - Ayden Jowers and Aleya Mincey.  Jerry was known as "Pop Pop" for all of his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family.

Jerry is predeceased by his parents, his stepson Bruce Jowers, and five siblings - Magdalene Davenport, Robert "Junior" Parker, Beatrice Shelton, Claudia Davenport, and Ronnie Parker.

Jerry deeply loved his family and friends, and they loved him in return.  He did not worry about the complexities of life as he realized his Lord and Savior had control of his life and worshipped as a member of Northside Baptist Church.  His early years in military service to his country had a long lasting impact on his appreciation for those who have dedicated their lives to their country.
