Obituary

Julee Ida Godley Crews, 61, of Brunswick, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

She was the last of 4 children, and was a 1978 graduate of Glynn Academy. Julee was born February 24, 1960 in Brunswick, to Gene and Connie Perry Godley.
Julee has held jobs with the Welcome Center on Highway 17 in Brunswick, also with the Glynn County Recreation Department, working with programs for seniors.  She worked with Southeast Georgia Health System as a courier, and The Flower Basket as a delivery driver.  Julee's real passion and God given talent was art, as she was very gifted.  Julee had lived in Brunswick most of her life, with the exception of moving to Morristown, TN, in December of 2013,  where she resided until October 23, 2020, with her husband Tom to pursue and keep his job of manufacturing fine fin tubing.  During that time, Julee and Tom made many close friends through their local church, Panther Spring United Methodist Church.  One of those couples was Sandy and Steve Whittle.  Sandy asked Julee to illustrate her children's book series "Bedtime Stories from McIntyre's Farm", that became a local success.
Many of Julee's paintings are shared between her parents, sisters, and friends.  Receiving one of her crafts, whether it was a Christmas ornament made from an old light bulb, a decoration made from puzzle pieces, or something repurposed, was a treasure.  Julee was a highly dedicated Christian, actively involved in church as part of the Lakeside United Methodist choir, of which she was a member.
She took her responsibilities being a witness earnestly by participating in Kairos Prison Ministry, and has also been involved over the years with Mission Groups going to Eluthra in the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Arizona. In her daily life, she would present three business cards face down with Bible verses written on them, to someone who served her at restaurant, or a retail person that waited on her in a store, and she would tell then to pick the card God wanted them to have.  It never failed, that the Bible Verse that the person picked was relevant to a situation that they were going through.  She never met a stranger, and was always willing to help anyone in need.  Her most important mission was sharing the love of Jesus with everyone she met.  On her 60th Birthday, she took a one week vacation with her life-time friend, (womb mate), Donna Gleston, to Sanibel Island in Florida.  Julee was born in February and Donna in March of the same year.  Hence, womb mate.  If you met Julee, you knew she was one of the lights in the world.  She was always encouraging, joyful, loving, and kind.  A precious daughter, loving sister, devoted wife, supporting mother and grandmother, a giving aunt, and a cherished friend.  We have truly lost one of our Earth Angels, but she is waiting for us in Heaven.
Julee is survived by her husband of 33 years, Thomas A. 'Tom' Crews, children, Stephanie Crews Prince, Cyndi Tamer (Moody), Michael Crews, Matthew Crews (Cindy), all of Bradenton, FL, parents, Richard Eugene Godley and Connie Perry Godley of Brunswick, grandchildren, Malek Crews, Ezra Rainey, Aaslyiah Rainey, Brohdi Tamer, Avery Tamer, Kayden Tamer, Mila Crews, Brianna Crews, Alyssa Crews, Ethan Crews, and Trae Loper, sisters, Gale Barr, (Gene), of Brunswick, Maggie Fuller (Jeff), of Lake City, FL,brother, Perry Godley (Renee) of Marietta, GA, a sister in law, Joyce Crews of McDonough, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews..
Services, to celebrate Julee's life, will be held at a later date.
