Juliet Ethelyn Bergevin was born to Paul E. & Ethelyn K. Bergevin in Anerson, Indiana on August 26, 1939. Juliet Bergevin Winterberg died May 14, 2025, at age 85.

Funeral Services to be at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Darien, Georgia 11:00 am.

Julie had a sister five years older who never made Julie feel like an unwanted tag -a- long sister. At age 15 her father took a yearlong sabbatical in Egypt which ignited her love of travel. In college at IU Julie was involved in the arts, appearing in several plays and musicals. Julie was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Paul Bergevin was all for equal opportunities for women in education and jobs however, his daughters
were to be nurses or teachers. Julie wanted to be an architect. Through one of her sorority sisters Julie was set up on a blind date with an Airforce veteran of the Korean War who raced sports cars. Ivan asked her to marry him on their third date, Julie waited
to finish her sophomore year.

They lived in Columbus Indiana with Ivan working at Arvin Industries until he came home one day to announce he quit, he did not like working behind a desk. They moved to Washington DC where Ivan continued in the field of Meteorology from his Airforce days. Julie and Ivan joined the church Emanual on the Hill where mom met her kindred spirit friends. She worked on many committees and art projects with friends. Julie and
Ivan had several failed pregnancies then chose to adopt a little girl.

Julie was a fantastic mother, sewing little dresses for her daughter and matching dresses for her dolls. When School days arrived, Julie was room mother and when Beth transferred to a private school Jullie drove carpool and was on many of the fundraising committees. She used her artistic skills in art, flower arranging and calligraphy. There was a move from Washington DC to Northern Kentucky where she again was very involved at Grace Episcopal church. She and Ivan had the most beautiful garden at their home with 60 rose bushes, a bed of daylilies than transformed into a sea of daisies later in the season across from a perennial bed with poofs of baby's breath.

Julie had a German friend who took her East Germany behind the Iron Curtain and take a trip down the Danube River. Later trips she took herself to visit our French exchange student then go on to Visit her friend who moved back to Germany after the Wall had been torn down. Julie also took a cruise to Alaska with another dear friend.

The daughter was grown and Ivan retired, they decided to move south not knowing whether to go east or west definitely south. The woman who researched vacation destinations for a year, purchased a house in the first town that they visited on the trip to determine east or west. Augusta was where their godson and his bride had located.

They renovated two homes there and enjoyed gardening at both. When their daughter and son-in-law moved to Darien and after helping them renovate their house, they moved to Brunswick. Though they moved into a condo there was enough of a fenced in patio area to continue her gardening with containers. Ivan had a long bout with Alzheimer's then when he succumbed Julie moved in with her daughter and son-in-law. Where she became active in the church again with her beloved knitting group making prayer shawls.
