Julius 'Pete' Stephens, 72, of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Southeast Georgia Health System - Brunswick Campus.

A private service, to celebrate his life, will be held at a later date.

Pete was one of 18 children, born to Lynch Stephens and Birtie West Stephens.  He lived in Jesup most of his childhood, moving to Brunswick in the mid 1960's.  Pete owned and operated Pete Stephens Painting for more than 43 years.  He enjoyed fishing, boating, and going to the mountains.  He loved sitting on his front porch, spending time with his family, and feeding Little Debbie snack cakes to his great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Stephens, children, Tina Smith (Barry) and Brian Stephens, all of Brunswick, and Donna Shealy (Charles) of Augusta, grandchildren, Andrew Odum, Jonathan Smith, Rebekah LaRoche (Derrick), Kevin Odum, Josh Smith. Mallory Odom (David), and Jillian Stephens, great grandchildren, Caleb Howe, Gatlin, Olivia, and Miles LaRoche, Ansley and Anna Lee Odom, and Jace Stephens.  And numerous nieces and nephews.
