Obituary

June Sakamoto Duncan, 88, of Brunswick, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held from the grave site, Thursday, March 22, 2018, 3:00 PM, at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Danny Webster officiating.
Mrs. Duncan was born September 18, 1928, in Otaru Hokkaido, Japan, to Ishizo and Some Takeda Sakamoto. She came to Georgia in 1951, and to Brunswick in 1960. Mrs. Duncan was a member of Northside Baptist Church, and had been employed as a seamstress with Brunswick Manufacturing until its closing, then Belk Hudson, followed by Fireside Cottage, .She was a self employed tailor, making clothing for her family, and others. She enjoyed flower gardening.
Survivors include her children, Bob Duncan (Bonnie) and Patrick Duncan (Debbie), all of St. Simons Island, Eureka Morris (Bill) of Brunswick, brother, Moriya Sakamoto of Sapporo, Japan, sisters, Masako Sakamoto of St. Simons Island, and Yoko Hayashi of Iwanizawa, Japan, a brother-in-law, Thomas Duncan (Clara Ann) of McDonough, GA, grandchildren, Jarrad Duncan (Logan), and Natalee Cross (James), and great grandchildren, Coleman Duncan and Kailand Cross. She was preceded in death bu her husband, Charles F. Duncan, Georgia State Patrol.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
